Face it, Microsoft Messenger for Mac sucks. There is no webcam or audio support, there is no support for IM encryption, no custom alert sounds, and a lot more. Luckily, there are other alternatives for Microsoft Messenger.
My favourite alternative for Microsoft Messenger is Adium. What I like about Adium is the support for different kinds of IM clients such as MSN, Yahoo!, AOL, Jabber and Google Talk. Of course, Adium supports much more. Adium is also customizable, something you can’t really do with Microsoft Messenger.
Sadly, Adium currently does not support audio or video conferencing. Although they are not available, Adium is working on a version that WILL support it.
